Medical Device Design & Analysis
Our team of experts is equipped to assist in every step of the medical device life cycle, from design conception and design to clinical performance evaluation. ​This includes our retrieval analysis services, which involve evaluation of explanted medical devices to understand their performance and failure mechanisms. By providing critical insights into the in vivo behavior of implants, we support improvements in device design, material selection, and clinical outcomes.
As a part of this work, we conduct advanced material analyses, mechanical testing, and biological assessment, as detailed below.



Advanced Material Characterization & Imaging
Using advanced techniques such as (FTIR) and (XRF), and imaging modalities like digital microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and surface profilometry, we provide comprehensive analysis of materials for both pre-clinical assessment and post-implantation evaluation.

Biological Analysis
Our NAMSA certified technicians use a variety of bioassays and image analyses to assess materials for qualities such as biocompatibility and osteoconductivity (encouragement of bone growth). We test all types of materials, coatings, and surface modifications.

Corrosion Analysis
Our corrosion analysis services for metallic implants include advanced techniques such as electrochemical testing, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), to assess the corrosion behavior of implants under simulated physiological conditions. By delivering detailed insights into material interactions and environmental impacts, we help optimize implant design and material selection.

Mechanical Testing
Our state-of-the-art mechanical testing capabilities include the MTS Exceed 35 kN static testing frame and the Instron 8874 servohydraulic fatigue/static testing frame. These systems provide precise strength, durability, and fatigue testing, ensuring products meet rigorous performance standards throughout their lifecycle. By simulating real-world conditions, we help accelerate product validation, enhance reliability, and support compliance with industry standards.
